Math: I have been a certified Florida teacher both in elementary and middle school. I have found that the public school curriculum wastes valuable time on skills that will be of no use to our learners in the future, as they have not been for many adults. I will follow the Florida State Math Curriculum with special attention to the basics of add, subtract, multiply, divide whole numbers, decimals, fractions, and percents. We will also learn about personal finance and budgeting.
Language Arts: Reading, writing, grammar, public speaking, and study skills are imperative to a college and professional career. Working in small groups or individually, we will follow the Core Curriculum guide to reading and writing excellence.
Social Studies: Before we can learn about the rest of the world, we must first know everything about the country we are privileged to live in. Our continuous focus in social studies will be United States history, geography, and current events. The more our children know and love our United States, the more passionate they will be about leading this country.
Science: Science is not only educational, it is fun! There are so many wonderful activities to promote a love for science. I will present our science lessons with fun, interactive activities. Just look at our photos from our weather field trip!
